Partner in Pet Food (PPF) is a leading, innovative European pet food company. PPF has its headquarters in Budapest, Hungary and operates in 10 countries - France, The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Romania. We provide a wide range of pet food products as well as expertise.

 

With 12 factories across Europe, PPF is the only market producer with an integrated pan-European production network, which enables us to deliver products to our customers efficiently. We distribute our products to more than 400 customers across 35 countries, including supermarkets, specialist pet shops, and veterinarians. Our production network consists of factories producing both wet and dry products as well as snacks. We are proud to have the highest service level and quality to price ratio.

 

Our focus on customer service and our agility to react to market trends has been essential to our company’s success. Our holistic approach to customer service allowed us to successfully build strong relationships with our customers both in Western and Central Europe. We are committed to our mission of providing our customers, pet parents and their pets, and our passionate team with the best experience so that they choose PPF and stay with us.

Last year, we produced almost 1 million tonnes 

of pet food and reported approximately €800 million in sales.

PPF operates across 35 countries with offices in 10. With 12 factories and 8 distribution centres across Europe, we are the only private-label pet food producer with an integrated pan-European production network, which allows us to deliver products quickly and efficiently to our customers.

We distribute products to more than 400 customers - these customers include a diverse range of grocery retailers, specialist pet shops, and veterinarians across 35 countries.

Today, we have almost 3000 colleagues working for us, and we’re still growing. Our key areas of focus to advance customer offering include expanding further into premium products and ranges, and allocating additional, dedicated resources to customer teams across our markets.

The story of Partner in Pet Food is a testament to strategic acquisitions and organic growth in the European pet food industry. The company’s origins trace back to the 1990s, a time marked by the emergence of several independent pet food producers across Central Europe. This foundational phase set the stage for what would become a significant player in the pet food sector.

2000 – 2010

Consolidation began in earnest when these independent entities were acquired by Provimi Pet Food. This process culminated in 2007 when Provimi Pet Food established a separate division, with its headquarters strategically located in Budapest, Hungary. This move not only unified the operations but also streamlined them under a cohesive corporate structure.

2011 - 2018

The transformation continued when Provimi decided to exit the pet food market, selling the business to a private equity firm. This change in ownership led to the renaming of the business to Partner in Pet Food, emphasising its commitment to being a dependable partner in the pet food industry. The company's primary markets included Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Benelux, laying the groundwork for further expansion.

2018 - today

In 2018, a significant development occurred when PPF was acquired by Cinven, a move that accelerated its growth trajectory. PPF not only grew organically but also expanded through further acquisitions. The following year, in 2019, France was established as a separate business unit alongside Benelux, marking a critical step in its regional consolidation strategy.

 

The year 2020 was notable for PPF's acquisition of Doggy, a leading Swedish pet food manufacturer with a storied history dating back to 1903. This acquisition added a rich heritage to the PPF portfolio and expanded its influence in Scandinavia. This was quickly followed in 2021 by the integration of Landini Giuntini, a top Italian pet food producer known for its long-standing reputation in the industry. That same year, PPF expanded its presence in Poland through the acquisitions of Mispol and Werblinski, strengthening its market position in Central and Eastern Europe. The expansion continued in 2022 with the acquisition of Kollmax, a Hungarian snacks producer. This move not only diversified PPF’s product offerings but also reinforced its manufacturing capabilities within Hungary.

 

Today, Partner in Pet Food operates across 10 European countries and maintains a robust production network with 12 factories. The company's impressive growth through strategic acquisitions and organic expansion showcases its commitment to providing quality pet food across Europe, making it a significant player in the industry.
